Our Experience
We signed up for the 2-hour beginner pottery class with zero prior experience. The vibe at Mud Hen Clay & Art Studio is relaxed, friendly, and supportive, perfect for beginners or anyone nervous about trying something new. The instructor walked us through each step, from prepping the clay to shaping it on the wheel (cue scenes from every pottery movie ever).
Let’s be real: our first attempts were, um, “abstract” but that’s half the fun! We laughed a lot, got a little messy, and ended up with two pieces each that we were genuinely proud of. After the initial class, you can return for a glazing session (for an extra $15/hour) to add color and finish your masterpieces.
Biggest surprise? How relaxing and meditative the process is. You’re focused, you’re creating, and it’s a great reminder to just enjoy the moment together.
